Christmas Day – Album by Earth Tree Healing
Christmas Day is the new album (from musician/composer Claudine West) by Earth Tree Healing. I recommend this album should be played during food prep and consumption, merriment, bad weather, good weather. The even it self, leading up to the event and alternatively, any other time of the year if you like the tunes.
I wanted to capture the essence and accompany with music, festive times with family; love, magic, peace, melody and quirky tunes. Building up to customary funky party beats. The creation of Christmas Day came a knocking via my fingers, shot through the door and wanted to be here pretty quickly. Some intense workload as the nights darkened in my home studio. It’s been a tough 2019 personally. Making the most of quality time spent with loved ones is paramount. In a season that for some emphasizes loneliness, abandonment, desperation, violence. I want to bring light in via music, vibrational inspiration for comfort, relaxation, escape, good feelings. There is beauty in the darkness. Life is worth hanging on to, even when you feel all hope is lost.
Music is my creative comfort. It is good, it is healing. When lack of vitamin D is problematic and supplements are gobbled down daily. It’s the blanket keeping me warm and tucked up with our cats when it is cold, dark, miserable. I do remember white Christmas snowy times when I was a tall tiddler. I would love to wake up to a white out in England. I still do get very excited at snow. Unfortunately climate change and planet evolution has put a stop to that for many years where I live. (I say this now…) I get a tingle when I smell the snow, the metal in the air, the tightness of the chest as icicles form. We don’t tend to get much of it in Nottingham in the Midlands. ‘The Beast From The East’ came and went. Beans in the cupboard, camping stove and candle ready. A few days in this country = travel chaos, panic buying, keyboard warriors in colder countries ‘used to snow’ making sarcastic social media comments. – Yep when you are used to it and the infrastructure of your country is adequate, prepped, maintained and invested in. Then well.. Walking on your scarf.. or just not going out unless you have to… can alleviate the risk that too many ignore. Breakages of the bone kind…Ouch! Get beans in now, fart your way through it.
I used to get over irritated by Christmas albums, I still do. They put me in the ‘anti spirit’ when played over a tannoy..over and over. SAME SONGS OVER AND OVER. Fortunately new ones are appearing. There are only so many words you can rhyme with Santa. So why record one? Well. I’m not an angry person anymore. Maturity and domestic settlement has calmed me. Crying at anything that is sad or animal related is now the norm. I did once think I was a sociopath, but then I SOBERED UP and unleashed raw be-bopping empathy. Gogglebox? Nope Blubberbox.
When music wants to come through, I really do have to let it. My ‘festive channeling’ opened wide! I also wanted to bring something new to the dinner table. A landscape of comfort, happiness, a musical friend to shine a light during dark nights. My memories of growing up with the Xmas magic as and excited child. After putting a glass of milk out and a carrot for Rudolf. We used to try to stay awake on Christmas Eve to sneak a peek at Santa. But like some magical sleeping dust. We never saw our stockings being filled at the end of our beds. My Brother, Sister and I would get up at the crack of dawn. Much gratitude to our parents for these times. We weren’t spoiled like brats, but we were spoiled.
The Xmas morning brekkie. The only day of the year I ate jam on toast. The only day I wanted jam on toast. Followed by chocolate, the feast of pigs in blankets, turkey, roasties, parsnips and veg. The awfulness of brussel sprouts – Love ’em or loathe ’em. A must on the dinner plate. I’d eat a couple to take one foe the team. The after effects fun wise far outweigh the taste. The afternoon kip, the queens speech, the same films every year on terrestrial TV – Yes 5 channels growing up. No Netflix binges in those days.
One December, I’d had the flu. Once I was able to get out of bed I built a small cardboard church. My Dad fitted lights inside. This goes under the tree every year.
This album is for you. It does include some tootsie tapping tunes. the humming melodies. Handle it by listening and sharing. Its success will provide benefit of kindness to our world. Give yourself and the ones around you some Love Light Hope Peace .:. Claudine

Western Mystical Tradition By Earth Tree Healing

There has never a better time to bring good healing music into this world than right now, when the very fabric of all that we once knew is being torn apart, by a lust for power, enabled by fear and negativity. Now with albums like this the gentle fight back of love and light will rise up, and this could well be the musical backdrop with which it happens.
Western Mystical Tradition is the latest release by Earth Tree Healing, who took us on a fine journey with Goddess earlier this year. This voyage of plenty starts with a lively short form musical introduction entitled Capodastro.
At this point we are delivered a composition which must be one of the best in this genre I have heard for years. The track is called Ethereal Sunset 432 Hz, the sound of the universe sweeps over our senses; this is the most beautiful piece of music that you’re ever likely to hear, the vibrational tone works for me, bringing chills to each and every hair on my arms, and the major minor chord structures, along with the build and progression here is utter quality, so much so I never wanted it to end.
Only twice have I see this actually occur, firstly the track is Murmuration and secondly for those who do not know, this refers to the phenomenon that results when hundreds, sometimes thousands, of starlings fly in swooping, intricately coordinated patterns through the sky. The swirling sounds and clever narrative on keyboards is absolutely perfect for this occurrence and one that is deeply fascinating to listen to.
On Mantra we are right in my ball park, to coin a phrase, or even an Americanism, the eastern values are strong here, but there is also an extremely cleverly crafted guitar, aiding what I think is a harmonium. When we gather the energies all together, a careful beat and percussive ethic joins this musical fray and completes a composition that almost takes me back to the late 60’s.
We are now nudging the middle of the album and some sumptuous acoustic guitar and a delicate keyboard greet our ever eager ears, as we herald the arrival of the track Sorrow of Souls, the further addition of strings here just creates a further lush dimension of sound to revel within.
Archipelago is our next docking port, and the gentle sea can be heard lapping up onto its shores. We have many stretches of water further west of us that have many small islands and a beautiful site it is as well. The multiinstrumental nature of this track alone is so well performed, and with such a mindful sense of balance as well, one can easily picture this scene through the music and be simply swept away by its overall chill out nature, a totally divine offering indeed.
The shortest track off the album is this one called Motion of the Moon, but even at only just over two and a half minutes long, it is one heck of an attractive offering, especially the performance on guitar in partnership the keyboards, one that manifested something quite graphic and addictive for us all.
We have three long form pieces now, so to our first spacious room of tone and vibration and it is called Orbital Ghosts, we now see a vast realm of musical brilliance open up before us, one so deep, yet bathed in a spectacular calmness of utter ambience. At just under ten minutes this breath-taking opus seems to drift over our senses like a late autumn mist, across a deep and dark lake, we are never quite sure what may or may not happen next, but the hovering anticipation of the keyboards and synths are just absolutely sublime.
Our longest track on the album is the following composition entitled Zodiacal Light. It partners the previous offering perfectly, but now also has that certain Kevin Kendle, super space music vibe about it as well. One could easily feel themselves floating up into the darkness of space to this one, perhaps even to watch the lights from the Orion nebula themselves. Synths and keyboards are the ship we now traverse the universe in, and the sublime sense of being able to just float within this composition is idyllic, if this track had lasted a whole hour I would not have minded.
Our penultimate piece is called Moonlight Arc, music akin to watching the moon rise on some distant world, a veritable soundtrack for this magical moment, the deep bass sound here was so incredible, the slowness was literally the arc of light gently rising to its zenith, this for me was one of my personal favourites on the album, and one that manifested something so very emotive and powerful as well.
Eulogy is our very last offering, a solo piano piece that takes us out of an album that has been incredibly impressive, a fine ending to a sublimely crafted and quite stunning release. Western Mystical Tradition by Earth Tree Healing in my view is the best work so far by the artist, each and every composition, each and every work of art is gratefully received by these ever eager ears; this must go down as one of the most remarkable new age styled albums to have been released this year, one I have absolutely no problem recommending.

A multi-dimensional 11 track (1 hour 16 minutes) collection of acoustic guitar based pieces, meditative electronic synth environments to explore. Themes of inspiration from the moon, the sky, the sea, the sun, the cosmos. Channeling Universal Life Force Energy through music, from past lives. The conscious element is intention, to create and perform a beautiful, higher vibrational, harmonious soundscapes.
Track 1: Capodastro We begin with a sweet and sunny acoustic guitar ditty.
Track 2: Ethereal Sunset 432 Hz – Inspired by the beautiful mystic energies of sunsets on Benirrás beach, Ibiza. As the blissful darkening introduces us to the night. Track 3: Murmuration – Soundtrack for the Starlings, for the patterns in the sky for the people that have ascended. For when we look up to the sky and see the magic and true beauty that befalls us.
Track 4: Mantra multiple layers build upon the foundations, rising, thickening, rhythmical enchanted affirmations for self.
Track 5: Sorrow of Souls. The ones we encounter that so brightly shine. They illuminate and touch lives. they remain undiscovered, to the masses and a Saviour to the few. A philanthropist that doesn’t need to donate money to help others benefit.They donate selflessness, love, tolerance. When a loved one departs their body. There are regrets at the unsaid. Peace in the mourning and sorrow until we meet again. Built upon piano, acoustic guitar and strings.
Track 6: Archipelago. By a moonlit sea in Es Canar. I recorded the night waves. I’d been to Ibiza for a holiday earlier in 2019 and explored. Illuminated and inspired the essence of a sunset of Benirrás Beach, boat trips, the land train exploring the island. The vibe at Café Mambo. The Balearic islands vibe entertain beautiful chilled out times.
Track 7: Motion of the Moon. Watching night sky watching the moon. The changes that occur in life, the circles we covet. There is a full original version I recorded years ago of this with my vocals. I’ve always loved performing this – so recorded an instrumental take of it.
The next 3 track are a trilogy of chill out music. Journey in to cosmic calm. 432 Hz.
Track 8: Orbital Ghosts. It’s now to down lights, close your eyes, adventure, relax, meditation, do yoga, adventure. The voices of apparitions invite you in.
Track 9: Zodiacal Light (24 mins) The powerful rumbles in the awe and glow, ebb and flow of mystical reflections of light in the night sky. 432 Hz for deeper meditations.
Track 10: Moonlight Arc Ambient space, the cosmos. For travellers, explorers of ascension.
Track 11: Eulogy – Simply piano. I had a very strong urge after a family member’s funeral to compose something fitting that combines, love, loss, and celebration and remembering.

Where these mystical roads lead
We were travelling at night in the rain through Sherwood Forest Country. The skyline glowed with the orange city lights. Eerie. The flooded roads, as dark as addiction in denial, manipulation failures and that empty bitterness of self pitying rejection for some. Opportunity knocks for all of us when we travel along the road of hope, good omens and vision. Friday night the Harvest Moon had shone brightly. Enlightened and changing times. Synchronicity and gratitude always. You all know who you are.
It’s all been positively busy the last month. Shutting one door when it came to the end of the road felt like a demon lifted from my soul. Diplomacy from my part. The escape. The casualties of departures that didn’t take advantage of opportunities lie bitter in ignoreland. With various projects on the go. I’m excited going into the autumn. Beautiful rustic colors. a nip in the air.
Last weekend. (14th & 15th September) I performed 4 sets of my Earth Tree Healing music at Newark Showground, Lizian Events Well Being Show. In the sunny garden. Tired out from a busy working no duvet days off for a while. Reinvigorated in the sunshine and creatively. My tools of communication = my instruments. Again, I am grateful meeting intriguing, spiritual folks. Fluke loop pedals, reptilians, crop circles, the Brexit pantomime….Belonging is a feeling I cherish. (Being one of the non fitter inners in the world.) Thank you Liz and Ian and the community for opportunities.
Reiki practice and meditation is helping a chilled out Claud with a positive, strong mindset.

Pastures New – Strange Currencies
Today I announced my departure from band Strange Currencies. My journey with them is at an end. I wish them well. I was mindful to announce it at the last gig of the year – ensuring the band have time to recruit a new drummer for 2020.
I had real pleasure jamming with talented musicians with some good tunes.
The D.H Lawrence Festival on 7th September was my final gig.
I’m moving on to concentrate on various projects.
